Turning Awareness into Action: Recognizing Mental Health Month 2025
At iCarol, we’re proud to support Mental Health America’s (MHA) 2025 Mental Health Month campaign, “Turn Awareness into Action.” Since 1949, MHA has led the charge in elevating mental health awareness every May. This year’s theme calls on everyone, from individuals to companies, organizations and others, to not only understand mental health challenges—but to actively do something about them.
Amplifying MHA’s 2025 Campaign
This year, MHA offers a variety of ways to get involved, and iCarol is here to help organizations put those ideas into motion:
- Download the Mental Health Month Action Guide: MHA’s comprehensive guide offers planning tools, content ideas, and engagement strategies to inspire impactful campaigns. Access the guide
- Participate in “Be Seen in Green” Events: Wearing green in May shows solidarity with those living with mental health conditions and opens the door for conversation. iCarol makes it easy to organize staff participation or promote events to the community. Learn more
- Implement Outreach Ideas: MHA provides suggestions for different types of groups—including schools, workplaces, and service providers—to promote mental health awareness in ways that resonate. See outreach ideas
Driving Collective Impact
Mental Health Month is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the mental well-being of individuals and communities, reduce stigma, and promote access to support and resources. This year’s theme, “Turn Awareness into Action,” is a powerful call to move beyond conversations and into meaningful change. It encourages individuals, organizations, and communities to not only raise awareness, but to take tangible steps—whether that’s checking in on a loved one, advocating for better services, sharing resources, or improving mental health policies. Our mental health is impacted by legislation that says what kind of mental health care is covered by insurance or allowed by law, and access to healthcare programs like Medicare and Medicaid. Part of turning awareness into action means writing or calling your representatives to tell them that mental health matters, and you vote with a candidate’s support of good mental health care in mind.
