Shared Chatboard, News, and Events
Last month we brought you the news that sharing capabilities in iCarol had been extended to the Chatboard, News, and Events areas, much the same way as call forms and resource databases could be shared.
These new capabilities are already being used by our clients in a number of ways.
The Chatboard has always been a great way to communicate with fellow Admins, your volunteers or staff, and others with access to your iCarol system, but by extending this to your sharing partners there are new ways you may want to use this feature.
Just one example might be Admin-specific discussions, like call handling tactics, coordination of duties in a disaster, or as in the example below, schedules in the event that centers are sharing or transferring call handling.
You can create a forum that will be seen only by those with Admin permissions at all centers that are part of the Chatboard sharing.
Once your Admin forum is set up, you can use it to discuss anything of interest to the managers.
The News section is another great way to share information and save space in your call center that may otherwise have been cluttered by Post-its and printed memos. For your collaborative efforts, use it to share news that will affect all the centers that are a part of the collaborative.
The events calendar can be used to share any events pertinent to the collaborative as well, such as keeping track of the schedule of who is handling after-hours calls, trainings, or marketing and outreach events.
